Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 25, 2026
Maths Trainer is a math practice app for children in kindergarten through grade 8. It is operated by Miltinson Technologies LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information Maths Trainer collects, including information about children, how we use it, who receives it, how long we keep it, and what parents can do about it.
This is a standalone policy for Maths Trainer. It does not depend on the general Miltinson Technologies privacy framework, and where the two differ, this policy controls for Maths Trainer.
In short: only a parent (or a teacher with their school's permission) gives us a child's details. We keep a child's first name or nickname, age range, grade, avatar, and practice progress, and use them only to run the app. There are no ads, we do not sell or share children's information, and children cannot message anyone. Parents can review and delete it at any time.
1. Who we are and how to reach us
Miltinson Technologies LLC is the only operator that collects or keeps personal information through Maths Trainer. Parents can contact us with any question about their child's information:
- Miltinson Technologies LLC, a Washington limited liability company
- c/o North City Law, PC, 17503 10th Ave NE, Shoreline, WA 98155-3701
2. How Maths Trainer accounts work
A Maths Trainer account belongs to an adult: a parent, a guardian, or a teacher. Children are not asked to sign up, and they do not get their own email address, password, or login.
The adult signs up, then adds a profile (a "player") for each child in the parent portal, which is protected by a 4-digit parent PIN. A child uses the app by picking their player on the home screen of the adult's signed-in device.
Maths Trainer has no chat, no messaging, no public profiles, and no place for children to post anything. Children cannot contact other users, and other users cannot see a child's profile.
3. Information we collect from the adult account holder
- Name, email address, and password, entered on the sign-up form. The password is handled by our sign-in provider and stored in hashed form.
- A record, with the date and time, that you confirmed you are 18 or older and the parent or legal guardian of the children you add (see Parental consent).
- A 4-digit parent portal PIN, which you create the first time you open the parent portal. We store it in hashed form.
- Sign-in session records kept by our sign-in provider, which include the IP address and browser details used to sign in.
- Messages you send us, if you contact us.
4. Information we collect about children
A child's details are entered by the parent, in the parent portal. The Add Player form asks for:
- A first name or nickname. The form asks you not to use a full name.
- An age range: under 4, 4 to 18, over 18, or prefer not to say.
- A grade level, from Pre-K to grade 8, when the age range is 4 to 18. For other age ranges the app sets a starting grade itself.
- An avatar, chosen from the emoji and pictures built into the app. No one can upload photos.
5. Information created while a child practices
As a child uses Maths Trainer, the app records their progress so it can pick the right problems and show the parent how things are going:
- Points (XP), levels, badges earned, and daily practice streaks, with the dates practiced.
- For each math topic, how many answers were correct and how many were attempted, and how many problems were completed.
- Progress toward mastering each skill in each grade: when each skill was last practiced, how many times a problem in that skill was not solved, the solving method the child picked, and the last few problems missed (the problem, its answer, and the time).
- Settings for the player: the session timer length, whether read-aloud and sound effects are on, whether the starting placement check is done, and whether the parent has locked or turned off the profile.
- A random ID for each player and for the account. These IDs stay the same over time so progress stays with the right child and syncs between the account's devices.
We do not ask for a child's birth date, address, school, photo, voice, email address, phone number, or location, and we do not ask children to type in anything about themselves. Work typed into the note pad or drawn on the drawing board stays on the screen; it is not saved and is not sent to us.
6. Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Like any website, our hosting provider receives the IP address, browser type, and address of each page requested, and keeps them in server logs.
- Page-view analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It records the page address, the referring page, browser, operating system, device type, and country. It does not use cookies. The addresses of a child's pages include the player name (for example, /profile/sam/practice); the app replaces that name with a placeholder before the page view is sent, so analytics never receives it.
- Cookies. We use cookies only to keep the adult signed in and, for one hour after the parent portal PIN is entered, to allow parent-only actions. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
- Browser storage. The app keeps a copy of the account's player profiles, progress, account ID, and account email address in the browser's storage on each device where the account is used, so the app loads quickly. The sign-in page also offers "Remember my email", which is on by default and saves the email address in that browser.
- Read-aloud. Maths Trainer can read problems, hints, and lessons aloud using the text-to-speech voices built into the browser or device. Some browsers send that text to the browser maker's servers to produce the speech. The text read aloud is app content, such as a math problem, not a child's name or profile details.
The IDs, cookies, IP addresses, and page views involved when a child uses Maths Trainer are used only to support the internal operations of the app: keeping it working and secure, keeping progress with the right player, and counting page views. They are not used for advertising, to build a profile of a child, or to contact a child.
7. How we use information
- To run Maths Trainer: show each player's profile, choose problems at the right level, track mastery, award badges and streaks, and sync progress between the account's devices.
- To give the account holder a parent dashboard with each child's progress, and parent controls such as adding, locking, resetting, and deleting players.
- To keep accounts secure, for example by taking steps to limit repeated wrong PIN attempts.
- To keep the app working: counting page views, finding and fixing errors, and understanding which parts of the app are used.
- To respond to requests and questions from account holders.
We use children's information only to provide and support Maths Trainer. We do not use it to advertise to children, to market other products to them, or to build profiles for any other purpose.
8. No advertising and no sale of data
- Maths Trainer shows no advertising of any kind, including behavioral or targeted advertising.
- We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- There are no in-app purchases and no links that ask children to buy anything.
9. Who receives information
We use the following service providers to run Maths Trainer. They receive information only to provide their service to us:
- Neon, our database and sign-in provider. Neon stores the account and child profile data described above, stores the account holder's name, email address, hashed password, and sign-in session records, and sends account emails such as password resets.
- Vercel, our hosting provider. Vercel runs the app, keeps server logs, and provides Vercel Web Analytics.
- The browser or device maker's speech service, if your browser sends read-aloud text to its servers (see Information collected automatically). This is part of your browser, not a service we choose.
We do not disclose children's information to any third party for a purpose other than running Maths Trainer, so we never ask parents for that kind of consent. We may disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the safety of a child or others, or to a company that acquires Maths Trainer, which would have to follow this policy for information it receives.
10. Parental consent
Only the parent gives us a child's information. This is how it works:
- To create an account, the adult must tick a required box confirming they are 18 or older and the parent or legal guardian of any child who will use the app, or a teacher adding students with their school's permission. The sign-up form does not appear until the box is ticked. We record the date and time of this confirmation with the account, and the parent portal asks for it again if no record exists.
- Players are added in the parent portal, which is protected by a 4-digit parent PIN. Resetting progress, changing grades, and deleting players also happen there. A child picking their player on the home screen cannot add a player.
- A player's own Settings screen lets the child change their avatar and turn read-aloud and sound effects on or off. It does not collect any new information about the child.
We do not use other verification methods, such as a card check or a signed form.
11. Parents' rights and how to use them
As a parent, you can review your child's information, have it deleted, and stop any further collection. You do not need to give us any more information than is needed to confirm you are the account holder.
- Review. Open the parent portal and enter your PIN. The dashboard shows each player's name, avatar, grade, points, streaks, and progress by topic. To get a copy of everything we hold about your child, email us from the account's email address.
- Change. In the parent portal you can change a player's grade and avatar, and turn read-aloud and sound effects off for every player on the device you are using. Each player's Settings screen turns read-aloud and sound effects on or off for that player. For anything else, including a player's name, email us.
- Delete a child's information. In the parent portal, turn off the player, then choose Delete. This removes the player and all of their progress from our database right away, and from the device you are using. Other devices signed in to your account remove them the next time Maths Trainer is opened on them. To clear only progress, use Reset progress.
- Stop further collection. Lock or turn off a player in the parent portal to stop the child from using that profile, or delete it. To delete the whole account, email us from the account's email address. There is no in-app button for deleting the account yet.
We respond to email requests within 45 days. We will confirm that a request comes from the account holder before acting on it. We do not make a child's use of Maths Trainer depend on giving more information than the app needs.

12. Your privacy rights
Anyone, wherever they live, can ask us to access, correct, delete, or get a portable copy of their personal information by emailing contact@miltinson-technologies.com. We respond within 45 days. If we turn down a request, you can appeal by replying to our decision, and we respond to the appeal within 45 days.
Maths Trainer does not collect consumer health data, including under the Washington My Health My Data Act.
13. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Maths Trainer does not change its behavior in response to Do Not Track signals, because it does no cross-site tracking for such a signal to turn off.
We honor Global Privacy Control by default: we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of.
14. Data retention policy
This is our written retention policy for Maths Trainer: what we keep, why, for how long, and how it is deleted.
- Player profiles and progress. Why: to run the app for the child and show the parent progress. How long: while the player exists on the account; a player that is turned off is kept until it is deleted. How deleted: the parent deletes the player in the parent portal, which removes it from our database right away. Other signed-in devices remove their copy the next time Maths Trainer is opened on them. We keep only the deleted player's random ID, the account it belonged to, and the time it was deleted, with no name or progress, so that another device cannot add the player back; this is removed when the account is deleted. Copies can remain in our database provider's backups for a limited period before they are overwritten.
- Account information (name, email address, hashed password, hashed PIN, the adult confirmation record, sign-in session records). Why: to sign the parent in and protect the parent portal. How long: until the account holder asks us to delete the account. How deleted: we delete the account and all of its players from our database and our sign-in provider within 45 days of a confirmed request.
- Messages you send us. Why: to answer you. How long: as long as needed to handle your request.
- Server logs and page-view analytics. Why: to keep the app working and secure. How long: our providers' standard retention periods. Analytics never receives a child's name.
- Browser storage. Why: so the app loads quickly on that device. How long: until it is cleared. Signing out does not erase every stored copy of player progress; clear this site's data in the browser settings to remove it from a shared device.
We keep children's information only as long as reasonably needed to provide Maths Trainer to the account holder, and we review this retention policy at least once a year.
15. How we protect information
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, including:
- All connections to Maths Trainer use HTTPS encryption.
- Passwords are handled by our sign-in provider and stored hashed. Parent portal PINs are stored hashed, and we take steps to limit repeated wrong PIN attempts.
- Our servers only return information that belongs to the signed-in account.
- Resetting a player's progress and changing a player's grade require the parent portal PIN to have been entered within the last hour.
We maintain a written information security program for Maths Trainer. It names who is responsible for security, the risks we have identified, the safeguards we use, how we respond to incidents, and an annual review.
No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach that affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
16. Use by teachers and schools
Teachers can use Maths Trainer with students. A teacher signs up and adds students as players the same way a parent does. Maths Trainer does not have school-specific features such as class rosters, school administrator accounts, or connections to school systems.
When a teacher uses Maths Trainer for school, we use student information only to provide Maths Trainer for that classroom, not for any other commercial purpose. The teacher or school is responsible for having authority to add students, including any notice to or consent from parents that the school's own policies require. Parents of students can contact us to review or delete their child's information.
17. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If we make a material change to how we collect, use, or share children's information, we will email account holders before the change takes effect and ask for consent where the law requires it.
